Barks & Recreation is an enrichment based pet camp in Tyrone, Ga. We were founded because our owner noticed a huge problem with overstimulation and stress at day cares during her career in thIs industry. Unfortunately, those things can often lead to behavioral issues and even fights. This is why it is incredibly important for the health of your pet to offer both physical AND mental stimulation instead of just letting the pets run and play all day. This combination helps your pet to live their most valuable lives, as it has been clinically proven to have MANY benefits! Some of these are anxiety and stress reduction, correction of negative behaviors and strengthening cognitive function.
Our goal is to help all pets in our care build their confidence and live enriched lives!
Barks & Rec is a kennel free facility with about 4000 square feet of open area to get out all of their physical energy as well! Our boarding areas are boutique style bedroom suites made to mimic a home environment - some even have TVs !

About Us
Barks & Recreation is owned by Ashely Mayo-Barber. Ashely is someone who has truly made animal care her entire life! She has been working professionally in the animal care industry since 2011, with special interest in rescue and enrichment. Rescue is something that is incredibly important to the community. That is why she works with Fayette Humane to help foster dogs while they wait for their forever homes. She is also currently certified in AKC safe handling standards, canine CPR and first aid and dog communication.
Ashely lives in Grantville, GA with her husband and crew of pets. Currently she has 4 dogs, 4 cats, 3 mice and a hamster... all of which are rescues who are incredibly loved and pampered.
