More than just a Pet Sitter. Professional care from someone who truly understands pets.

When you trust someone with your pet, you deserve more than someone who simply loves animals. You deserve experience, education, safety knowledge and someone who truly understands animal behavior.

I've worked professionally in pet care since 2011, and since 2023 I've been the sole owner and operator of Barks & Recreation's physical location, where our focus has always been on relationship building, confidence building, enrichment, and individualized care.

That experience and philosophy carries directly into every mobile visit.

Professional Experience & Education

Fear Free Certified
Committed to minimizing fear, anxiety, and stress and creating a more comfortable experience for every pet.

AKC Safe Handling Certified
Professionally trained in safe, responsible handling and interaction with dogs.

K9 CPR & First Aid Certified
Prepared to respond appropriately if an unexpected emergency occurs while your pet is in my care.

CCPDT Certification — In Progress
I'm currently working toward CCPDT certification, a respected professional credential in dog training grounded in sciencebased, positive reinforcement methods. Continuing education matters to me because our understanding of animal behavior should continue to evolve.

What This Means for Your Pet

My experience goes beyond completing a checklist of feeding, potty breaks, and walks. Years of working directly with dogs have taught me to recognize body language, stress signals, individual personalities, and the difference between what a pet can tolerate and what actually makes them feel comfortable and confident.

Some pets need an adventure. Some need enrichment. Some need confidence building. Some simply need calm companionship.

The goal isn't to make every pet fit the same service. It's to provide care that fits the pet.

And when you book Barks & Recreation, you're not being assigned a random sitter. You're getting the same person who has spent more than a decade building a career around professional pet care and who personally owns and operates Barks & Recreation.

Your Pet Deserves More Than Someone Who Checks In.

They deserve someone who understands them.

Personalized Pet Care Visits

More than a quick potty break, our Personalized Pet Care Visits are designed to give your pet meaningful, attention while they stay comfortably in their own home. Each visit is tailored to your pet’s individual routine and personality and can include potty breaks, feeding, medication, playtime, enrichment, walks, cuddles, or simply keeping them company.

So, what makes this different from a typical pet sitting visit? We don't believe in rushing in, checking a few boxes, and heading out. Your pet gets dedicated, personalized time with a professional who already knows them and takes the time to notice the little things... how they're feeling, what they enjoy, what makes them comfortable, and what they need that day. Whether you have a social butterfly who wants to play, a senior pet who needs a slower pace, an independent cat who prefers quiet company, or a dog who needs mental stimulation rather than another walk around the block, the visit is built around them, not a generic checklist.

It's essentially personalized pet care without having to send your pet anywhere giving you the convenience of a pet sitter with the individualized, relationshp based care you'd expect from someone who truly knows your pet.

Adventure & Exploration

Sometimes your dog needs more than a walk around the block, they need an adventure! Adventure & Exploration Trips are personalized outings designed to give your dog the opportunity to explore new places, experience new sights and smells, get some exercise, and enjoy a change of scenery outside their everyday routine.

Each adventure is tailored to your dog and can include nature trails, parks, petfriendly destinations, sniffari style exploration, or other approved outings based on their personality, comfort level, and interests. We focus on allowing your dog to explore at their own pace while incorporating enrichment and basic training opportunities along the way.

This isn't just a longer dog walk. It's their own little field trip.
